Obituary of Arthur R. Hirschfeld

Arthur R. Hirschfeld of Hopatcong, NJ passed away on Monday, October 5th at Mount Arlington Senior Living Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 89. Arthur was born on January 29, 1926 in Weehawken, NJ to the late Arthur and the late Agnes (Nicking) Hirschfeld. Mr. Hirschfeld was a longtime resident of Dumont and Hopatcong, NJ and in his later years Lakewood, NJ. He owned and operated Woodco Windows Inc. Arthur attended Stevens Institute of Technology and he was a proud WWII Navy Veteran. He enjoyed sailing and all other aspects of the lake. Arthur was an over 50 year member of both local one stagehand union and the Masons. Arthur is survived by his sons, Arthur, Richard and William & his wife, Lisa and his cherished grandchildren, Arthur, Kristin, Betsey & Derrik and 5 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include his sister, Joyce Ondish of Mt. Arlington, his stepchildren, Kathy Driscoll & her husband Tom, Debbie Costleigh, Brian Costleigh & his wife Renee, Scott Costleigh, 7 step-grandchildren and his longtime companion, Phyllis Garma of Lakewood, NJ. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Mary Leone, his second wife, Theresa, his stepson, Kevin Costleigh and his brother-in-law George Ondish. Arthur's Life Celebration will include visitation on Thursday, October 8th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral service on Friday, October 9th at 10:00 am also at the funeral home. Arthur will be laid to rest at the Succasunna Presbyterian Cemetery in Succasunna, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lake Hopatcong Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
