Obituary of Louis Lamberto

Louis C. "Duke" Lamberto of Netcong passed away Tuesday November 10, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover. He was 92. Born in Netcong, he was a lifelong resident. Duke was a devoted husband, an outstanding father and a doting grandfather. He was beloved by his entire family. For him, nothing was second to his family. A Navy veteran, Duke served his country proudly on the USS Canberra, a heavy cruiser that was destroyed in the South Pacific during World War II. He earned many commendations. He was an electrician with Picatinny Arsenal for over 35 years. He was a member of St. Michael's RC Church in Netcong, the oldest living member of the Assumption Society and an inactive member of the Knights of Columbus St. Michael's Council. Beloved husband for 69 years of Antoinette C. (nee: Fiorello). Devoted father of Annette J. Oswald and the late Angela A. Lamberto. Cherished grandfather of James Louis DeMuccio and Dawn M. Repsher. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Louis's Life Celebration on Thursday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday November 13 at 10:00AM at St. Michael's RC Church, Netcong. All are invited to meet directly at church. Louis will be laid to rest (on his lucky day, Friday the 13th) immediately following mass in the Stanhope Union Cemetery, Mt. Olive Township. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
